Restoration Weeks
"There's so much to do-- let's get at it!" is a saying, but we have an even better one: "There's so much to do-- let's pray!" Both have their place in the Restoration Weeks. The experience of working together in community during these weeks is so wonderful-- everyone should experience it!
Much has been accomplished during the many Restoration Weeks we have had since the year 2005. Friends from various nations and and churches have come to help us and each one was an encouragement. We have especially loved hosting the big teams of enthusiastic helpers who have enabled the progress of our house and garden. Thank you, thank you to everyone!! Up to this time we have always had enough basic jobs to be able to occupy even those volunteers with no prior construction experience. Now, after 5 years, we are through with the basic demolition process in the house and have finished most of the garden. Generous donations, especially for the large hall, have enabled us to at least partially employ construction firms for some of the major jobs, but we are now in urgent need of skilled labourers in order to continue with various projects so that the rooms can be put to use.
If you are skilled in any of the following areas and have time and energy to invest in the Jesus-Haus project, please contact our building team:
- Tile laying
- Masonry
- Plastering
- Heating and plumbing installation
- Laminate flooring installation
- Dry walling
- Electrical wiring
- Painting (rooms/windows)
In addition to the planned Restoration Weeks, volunteers are welcome to come (with prior arrangement) at any time to help for a few days. We will gladly provide room and board for volunteers.
