An Invitation to “The Shack - A Weekend of Encounter with God”
After the book “The Shack” appeared on the Christian market, at least 10 of my friends told me that I absolutely must read it! I was hesitant at first, because I have a natural mistrust of things that everyone likes. To my surprise, however, I really liked the book. All of my friends had told me that the book had deeply touched them and it was the same with me. What's it about? In the end it tells of an unusual encounter between God and the book's main character, Mack. Mack is a pretty religious guy but through his experience he realises how incomplete his picture of God has been. This encounter changes his life.
This point is also the core of our vision for the Jesus-Haus. We want to see people have a fresh encounter with God here so that their lives will be changed. When we heard about Kerstin Hack's idea of doing a seminar based on this book, we asked if she would offer it in Herrnhut as well. We are excited for what God will do during this weekend in those who, like Mack, are searching for that surprise encounter with God.
